We don’t want Cuba to be black-and-white photos for young Cuban Americans; we want it to be names and faces of friends and family.

Your generous gift will help bring young Cuban Americans to Cuba to see the real Cuba, experience a culture they have only known through family photos and reconnect lost family members.

  • My Cuban Abuela

    My Cuban Abuela

This is my Cuban Abuela whom, up until this week, I'd never met. We laughed, shared photos, told stories. I never imagined this trip or meeting would change my life the way it has already. - Lissette Calveiro

  • My Heritage

    My Heritage

This trip has taught me so much, connected me to my roots, filled in these gaps that I can't even explain, and so much more. - Miranda Hernandez

  • My people

    My people

I cried so hard during lift off from Cuba. I've never felt more attached to a place or people in my life. Thank you CubaOne Foundation, for making me feel whole again. - Michelle Alfonso

  • Our House

    Our House

This is my abuela's old house in Havana. It has been restored and is currently used as a Christian church. The grounds keepers welcomed me inside, they showed me the rooms, and told me stories about my family. It was such an honor. - Steven Garcia

  • Our family

    Our family

I was the first person in my family to return to Guira De Melena, since we left 55 years ago. My Tia Ofelia's eyes lit up as friends and neighbors trickled in to meet me, they had all gotten to know me through the photos my family sent. - Daniel Cohen

  • Our reconciliation

    Our reconciliation

With friends like these, a new bridge between Cuba and the United States is possible. - Ismario Rodriguez

How you can help

It costs $2,500 to send one participant

It’s time to acknowledge the past and chart the way forward. We want to be able to send every young Cuban American who would benefit from traveling to Cuba. As our applicant pool continues to grow, we’re working hard to expand our program to as many people as possible — your gift will help make that a reality.

It costs $25,000 to send a full group

With over 1,200 applications in our first month, we have the potential to transform an entire generation – both in the United States and in Cuba. Helping young Cuban Americans discover their heritage and place in the Cuban story is no small undertaking, and it takes a huge community of dedicated supporters to make it possible.
